Lila`s Palace ~ Family - Just For the Hill of It

When people talk about their favorite vacation spots, I always think of Lila`s Palace. Where is it located you ask? It is located in Angie, Louisiana. It is one of my favorite places to visit because it is where my mother is from and we have family that lives all around Lila’s Palace. Lila`s Palace is named after my grandmother Lila.

This place is special to me because it is where my mother grew up. When we come here for vacation with my mother, I enjoy spending time with my mom and the rest of my family that I do not get to see everyday. I enjoy hearing the stories of my mom and her siblings growing up.

Lila Robinson, a beautiful lady who gave birth to eight children and one of them happens to be my mother, Doris (Robinson) Whitherspoon.

Lila’s Palace is three connected domes. Visiting here is like the best place to write at. The rooster next door in my uncles yard wakes me up while the rest of the house is fast asleep. I can put my robe and slippers on and had downstairs to sit on the front porch outside. While outside, across the street is a beautiful view of the sun coming up and my cousin’s beautiful horses. It is very peaceful out here. You can honestly feel how much my mother loves her mother, to build a home and name it after her. That love has passed down because I love my mother just as much, if not more.

Inside the dome you will come in and smell in my opinion the best gumbo in Louisiana made by my mom and her red beans and rice and cornbread. What a great meal to have after traveling to get here just in time for the holidays!

Our family is growing so of course we had to have a few EZ Inflate Luxury Double High Queen and a few Intex Dura-Beam Series Elevated Comfo air mattress to make sure everyone had a place to sleep. Christmas Eve we had a bon fire were we roasted marshmallows and shot fireworks. While out here we all had on our Christmas hats that light up for all to see in the night. OurWarm LED Christmas Hat, Light Up Christmas Hats kept our heads nice and warm while we enjoyed family time outside.
