Hey there #fitfam, welcome back and to our new visitors, thank you for coming! Today we’re going to discuss how a good detox can increase energy and overall wellness. In general, a detox is intended to flush toxins from your body and provide a reset to the digestive system and as a side effect, the metabolism. There’s a variety of detox approaches and depending on the path you choose, the effects may be major or minor changes to the body. In my experience, natural detoxes have longer lasting effects but tend to take a bit longer to produce results. On the other hand, supplement-based detoxes can have faster effects but often do not last as long, specifically once the products have left the system. Whichever method is best for you is to be decided on a case by case basis.

The natural approach can be executed with a juicer and fruits and veggies blended down into a smoothie. These smoothies can be consumed daily for 3-7 days and will typically produce multiple results such as increased energy, better digestion, and possibly a smaller mid-section as bloating is often decreased. Be warned, a good detox may increase the flushing process and it might be advisable to stay near a bathroom. With a flushed out gut, the body’s natural metabolic process can be reset as you are typically eating less bad foods and smaller portions. Your natural digestive process is improved and the effects can last beyond the detox period. The supplement-based detox formula can work but because foreign substances or large amounts of substances the body produces are being introduced, the body relies on those elevated levels to flush. As a result, when the supplements are removed, the body reverts to its previous state.
