Welcome back #fitfam, today we’re going to talk about a small victory for yours truly in 2024. Before we begin, I want to thank everyone who supports this blogs series with comments and shares, we truly appreciate you.
Now, on to the topic of the week…my testimony today is about a victory in fitness and a spiritual breakthrough in well-being. I’ll start with the spiritual breakthrough – for the believers, this won’t be a stretch at all. Heading into 2024, I began some soul-searching and took some small steps to clean up some problematic areas in my life from a standpoint of things I participated in, things I ate, things I said, and things I neglected. As the year began, I calibrated some things and cranked up the activity in my life while seeking a greater spiritual relationship with God. Changes in mindset began to form and things around me started to shift in a positive way and I felt reinvigorated and had a new fire for fitness that had waned a bit from 2022 to 2023.
The spiritual stirring produced great physical results and now we look at the 19 lb weight loss – it was swift and dramatic but largely unnoticed until a week ago. Honestly, during the process, 14 of the 19 lbs kind of fell off with little fanfare, but then a 3-day fast dropped 5 lbs from Saturday to Monday. The fast had spiritual intentions but ended up producing health benefits as well. Since January 1st, I have tweaked my exercise regimen as well and focused on cardio and core work to recompose my body to gain a certain aesthetic. The combination of renewed focus and calibrated training have combined to be a great gain and I am thankful for my results while understanding that maintenance and progress will bring about even more adventure and I am ready.

1 – Rope-less jump rope, available on Amazon – Approx. $8
2 – 5lb dumbbells, available at Walmart, Target, Academy, or other sporting goods stores – Approx. $12
1 – 10lb kettlebell – Approx. $12
1 – Set of heavy fitness bands – Approx. $15
1 – Long stretch fitness band – Approx. $6
