Welcome back #fitfam! We’re going to close of the home stretch of our summer time fine mission with a banger of an upper body circuit. This group of exercises will challenge your upper body by recruiting many of the upper chest and shoulder fibers in multiple lifts. The goal is to develop functional strength from shoulder to shoulder which will help with everyday lifting such placing heavy items on a top shelf and even holding items above your head for extended periods of time (think about mounting a TV or shelf on the wall). In addition to utilizing an developing upper body muscles, you will also engage your core muscles and find benefits in corrected posture and a more confident and powerful stride. In short, you’ll be one step closer to “bad@ss” who’s been dying to get out for years!
I hope that you enjoy this circuit! And if you’re feeing froggy, complete it in it’s entirety back-to-back!

Just starting my workout journey after a massive heart attack at 51. You think you’re in pretty good shape, only to find out you were WRONG. I’m continuing to look for the right fitness programs for me to continue my journey. Thanks for sharing.
Lori, I’m sorry to hear about your heart attack but thankful that you survived and have the opportunity to recover and continue a fitness program. Keep at it and best of luck going forward.
I rally enjoy a great fitness blog, I am always looking for different workout routines.
Thank you for reading. I will be intermittently releasing new routines leading up to my e-book release. The next major series will be a vlog discussing the most common experiences of my clients and others who are working on their fitness journeys.
This is inspiring me to get back into a gym for a good workout! Thanks for sharing!!
Go for it Karen! And enjoy a great workout!
I’ve done some of these exercises and they are very good. But boy does it push you. I’m learning as I get older how much fitness is really important
Fitness becomes more and more important as we age. The most important factor is consistency and the willingness to modify the routine as our bodies change over the years. I’ve significantly reduced the jumping that occurs during my workout since I turned 40 in an effort to preserve my knees for as long as possible.
Great circuit ideas
Thank you so much Tianna!
This looks like a routine I could do – perhaps with some low weights to start. I tend to focus on my legs because my arms are not as fit as my lower body. Thanks for the tips!
Stephanie, not surprisingly, women tend to focus on lower body and men on upper body unless guided to do otherwise. I try to create circuits that are simple to setup and rely on exercise staples that are proven to get results over time.
oooo this sounds like a great workout! adding it to my routine! thank you for sharing
You’re going to love my holiday workout series, we will beat the holiday bulge together this year.
