What makes a girlfriend? I not talking about the dating one but a close female friend to another female that is more like a sister.  In this day and age with all that is going on we all need and want that person you can vent to and or chill with. I personally am blessed with the village that I have. The head of my village is most definetley my mother. Your mother is the best girlfriend to have because she has been there since birth. The one that can truly say that she has seen you at your best as well as your worse. Your truly blessed if you have a mother that you can talk to about anything and that is supprtive.

This post is in honor of National Girlfriends Day which is every August 1st. You can celebrate National girlfriends Day anyway that you choose. Most of my gilfriends host what they call girls night in events. We will play games, talk abut different  topics eat, drink and enjoy each others company. I have had several friends host these kind of events. This is a great time to talk about life things that are bothering you, things that are making you happy. In life it is great to have those Girlfriends that do not judge you and just  listen to you from time to time. I find that roadtrips are another great way to celebrate National Girlfriends day. Sometimes you just have to get away and just be with you and some of your girls, especially if some of your girlfriends don’t live in the same area as you do. Plan a date to all meet up at a speific location, we need our girlfriends near or far.

Ways to Celebrate National Girlfriends’ Day

1. Girls Night Out: Get all dressed up and go out with yor girls. Dresing up is a form of self care. You and your girlfriends can go out to eat and then do some dancing, the night is yours own it.
2. Girls Night In:  Decorate the inside of your home, provide food and drinks and prepare for your girls to come over for a night of fun and bonding.  This night can also be like a game night so grab some board games and get the night of fun started. Movie night is another fun Girls night in type of night. Make a list of some of you and your Girlfriends favorite movies and line them up for showing tonight.
3.   Girls Trip: Create bonding time with your girlfriends on a road trip. Just you, your girls and the Open road or skies. You get to not only have fun with your girls but you also get to explore a new location that is not the normal place your always at. Have friends that ive in diffrent states? What a great idea to meet at a central location and reconnect .
