Hey there #fitfam, welcome back and to our new visitors, thank you for coming! Today we’re going to take a closer look at how working out and training can aide in stress reduction and increase mental wellness. Not only can you gain the benefit of physically looking good, you’ll also find yourself in a better mood and enjoying more of what life has to offer. In order to unlock those ‘happy feelings’ you must first find a way to buy-in to your fitness mission whole-heartedly. If you are convinced that you are doing something good for yourself, you are more likely to remain committed and start to look at the positive side in general.

What will follow is a high during and after workouts that will carry you from session to session, push you through the harder days, and bring a positive mood to your life because you’ve been achieving your goals, caring for yourself, and likely engaged in the fitness community which is filled with encouragement and camaraderie. I encourage you to work on the buy-in and shift your mindset to find ways to enjoy your journey instead of begrudging. February is upon us and we want t maintain our momentum throughout the month and push through the sweet tooth urge associated with February 14th.

Here’s some general pieces of equipment I recommend you gather to create a solid DIY kit that will cost you $60 or less – a lifetime of equipment for the cost of a 3-month gym membership:

1 – Ropeless jumprope, available on Amazon – Apprx. $8

2  – 5lb dumbbells, available at Walmart, Target, Academy, or other sporting goods stores – Approx. $12

1 – 10lb kettlebell – Approx. $12

1 – Set of heavy fitness bands – Approx. $15

1 – Long stretch fitness band – Approx. $6

Here’s this week’s workout:

Level 1 = 2 Rds, Level 2 = 4 Rds, Level 3 = 6 Rds – 1 or 2 minute rest between rounds

20 – Skaters

20 – Lateral Lunges

20 – Push-ups

20 – Butterfly Crunches

20 – Mountain Climbers

20 – Leg Lowers

20 – Plank Floor Taps/Push-up Shoulder Taps
