Welcome back #fitfam, today we’re going to talk about the “new year, new me” mentality that is prevalent around the turn of the calendar from December to January on an annual basis. As you may have previously read, I am anti-new years resolution. A byproduct of that mentality is the idea that waiting for a specific date to decide to improve is just silly to me.
What troubles me is how many people think that January 1 is going to automatically bring better habits, a new mindset, and DISCIPLINE…it’s not realistic and is counter-productive to actual progress. Sure, occasionally, a person has made up their mind to change their life at the start of a year. But more than likely, those people decided quite some time before the first that it was time for a shift in their life and they were mentally invested in their new beginning.
What I find to be the most effective approach the beginning of the year is to begin your quest prior to the 1st of January. The first priority is mental readiness and we should be working to lock our mindset into positive change. Finding a program, trainer, or group that will hold you accountable will create a higher chance of success and will push you into the new year with confidence. The best bit of advice that I can provide is to not think new year, new me…just believe that you are taking the core of who you are and constantly fine-tuning yourself. You don’t need to be a new person, you are already uniquely awesome – you’re just increasing you personal health and wellness and it doesn’t take a new year to so.
My wish is that my advice will inspire and drive you to the next level, please enjoy these tips!

Lastly, I have training programs as low as $75/month that will supplement and guide you to your goals.
Love the theme of this post. I too isn’t a fan of new year new me mentality. I agree Jan 1 of every year doesn’t change the core of who you are unless you take consistent effort to do so.
I remember a time when I was into resolutions and my success rate was tempered because I was not making improvements before the start date arrived. Then when I looked at my successful changes, they all occurred on random dates. I re-enrolled in college on April 10th, I quit smoking on June 11th, I started taking trainer certification courses on Nov 3rd…not all in the same year but random start dates and I’m proud to report that I got my degree in 2.5 yrs after restarting, been smoke free for 4 yrs 7 mths, and been a certified trainer for 4 yrs. I prefer, New Day, New Me!
Love this! I just keep improving my fitness as I’m getting older, and try to be my best inside and out!
Aging doesn’t have to be hard, it can be glorious and fun if we take care of ourselves.
Nice list of affordable equipment. I look forward to your next post!
New post on the way!

Thanks for the motivation. The way you think is definitely the foundation for motivation.
Thank you for reading! Mindset is the key to success
Yes I agree. I love that it gives people a fresh perspective but in order to achieve these goals, you need to think of the steps it will take to get you there. Not only that, it needs to start with small steps and build up.
Absolute, brick by brick. All about progress not perfection!
I totally agree! Before COVID-19, I was successful at maintaining a workout regimen because I found accountability partners. It’s been a struggle ever since, but my husband is my accountability coach. He enjoys learning about health and wellness. He absorbs information like a sponge, which has been really helpful!
Having that person in the trenches with you is so clutch. Its even better because your husband has a personal investment in your well being and is supporting you. Super dope share Tiffany!
Whooa. Discipline, that’s the word for the year for me! Thanks for this post and inspiration!
#discipline ALL 2024!
