The Top Five Child Care & Daycare in Killeen & Harker Heights, Tx

This is only my opinion, however I truly believe that the daycares in this list are some of the best in our Central Texas area. Killeen , Harker Heights , Copperas Cove, and Nolanville are some of the surrounding cities in this area. The military base Fort Hood is all around us.
School has started back and now you need childcare again for those kids that can not stay alone. Finding the right daycare can be difficult at times. I decided to make a list of what I believe are the top five in this Killeen, Harker Heights and Coperas Cove area. I hope this will help you in your daycare search.
While your at work , school etc while your child is in someone elses care you want it to be a safe and loving environment for your child or children. It is a great feeling to leave your child and be wherever you are knowing that your child is being wll taken care of. It is hard enough to have to leave your child to go to work, school etc. but most of us have to do this.
If you have any financial issues there are some Childcare assistance programs in the area. One of them is called Child Care Services Program (CCS). If you call 211 they can probaly give you a list of other services that can assist you, if need be.
- Wonderful Daycare Center: This daycare is located at 601 W. Elms Road in KIlleen. It currently has 5 star rating. The contact information is 254-616-2124. - Unique Child Development Center: Located at 4408 Old Florence Road in Killeen, Texas. Contact number: 254-634-7911. The Hours of operation is from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Unique takes children Pre kindergarten to School Age.
- FUMC Killeeen Child Development Center : This center is located at 3501 E. Elms Road, Killeen, TX 76542. Hours of operation is from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Contact the CDCDirector, Michelle Street for more information at 254-634-5149. This Center takes children ages infants to school age.
- We Play Too Located at 119 W. Veterans Memorial Blvd, Harker Heights, TX 76548. The hours of operation at this facility is from 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Contact: 254-768-4528. Provide childcare for children ages 3 to 13.
- We Play and More , This location is located at 544 West Veterans Memorial Blvd Suite 110, Harker Heights. This childcare takes ages 18 months to 13 years. 254-768-4528.

Searching for a good and safe daycare is not easy! I also use the Texas Depart of Family and Protective Services to look up the last 5 years of inspections. It helps eases my mind.
Yes you must do your research.
Your post is spot on. To be able to find a reliable daycare that keeps your child safe and engaged in learning isn’t so easy.
We were glad to find a center that was great for our kids and stayed with them for almost 11 years until covid times we had to withdraw 2020. We haven’t been back yet.
